“Miami Beach is where neon goes to die” – Lenny Bruce

As a bit of a fan of the Art Deco architectural style, I really enjoyed the 24 hours I had in Miami. It was a buzzing beachside city covered in geometric designs, bold colours and neon lights with a fun and relaxed vibe. It actually reminded me quite a lot of the Gold Coast back home in Australia. I chilled on the beach, wandered through the Art Deco street market on Ocean Drive, ate delicious food (including my first taste of plantains!), went for a run and did a spot of shopping. It was only a short stay, but enough to realise why this is a popular holiday destination.

It was also time to return “Van Diesel” to Escape Campers. It was a sad moment parting ways from what had been home for two months. But it was time for someone else to enjoy the freedom of the campervan in what I believe is the best way to see the country!
